The year is 2055.

The governments are gone. The nations are ash. The Order of Oversight
has risen from the wreckage — a new world authority of politicians,
generals, and diplomats who offer safety, shelter, and purpose to those
willing to pledge their loyalty. Model cities have been built. A new
global currency — the Ombit (Ω) — has been issued. History is being
rewritten in the news bureaus.

You are an applied mathematician living inside the Diplomatic Operations
Zone — a sovereign territory carved from the former American Southwest,
outside what was once Las Vegas. You work for CONGA, the last remaining
private conglomerate, contracted by the Order to power its cities,
maintain its space ports, and push the boundaries of galactic science.
Your latest research — years in the making — sits on your desk, ready
to submit.

Then two letters arrive.

What happens next will define not just who you become — but who survives.

EXIGENCY is a keyboard-only, text-based adventure game written in
GW-BASIC and delivered as a self-contained [Windows / Mac] executable.
No mouse. No menus. No hand-holding. Just you, a keyboard, and a world
that does not care whether you make it.

The game opens identically for every player — the same desk, the same
letters, the same collapsing world pressing in from outside. But the
choices you make in the first act will lock you into one of four
completely distinct paths, each with its own story arc, its own cast
of characters, its own logic for survival, and its own ending.

Some endings are victories. Some are not.
Some deaths are merciful. Some are not.
A few outcomes are something else entirely.
